All HF bands will be in play, including the WARC bands, with the exception of 60 meters. Simplex on 2 meters and 6 meters is encouraged. The 13 Colonies Special Event is a not for profit event.

Sat., 7/14   MARC Kimberton HAMFEST
The 2018 MARC Hamfest will be held on Sat., July 14th at the Kimberton Fire Company grounds, Route 113 (742 Pike Springs Road) south of the intersection with Route 23 in Kimberton, PA. Doors open for sellers at 0700 and for buyers at 0800. Admission is $6. and includes a door prize ticket. 13 Colonies Special Event – 7/1-7

13 Colonies Special Event dates:  July 1 (9AM EST) to July 7 (Midnight EST)
(July 1, 2018-1300 UTC to July 8, 2018-0400 UTC)

This is the 10th Anniversary of the 13 Colonies Special Event! Stations working the special event station in at least one of the original 13 states — or all 15 participating stations — will be eligible for a certificate. A Liberty Bell endorsement will be attached for stations contacting sister special event station WM3PEN, in Philadelphia, where independence was declared. Stations will be on the air from each of the original 13 colonies — Connecticut (K2D), Delaware (K2E), Georgia (K2G), Massachusetts (K2H), Maryland (K2F), North Carolina (K2J), New Hampshire (K2K), New Jersey (K2I), New York (K2A), Pennsylvania (K2M), Rhode Island (K2C), South Carolina (K2L), and Virginia (K2B). All HF bands and all modes will be in play, with the exception of 60 meters. Operation on 2 and 6 meter simplex is encouraged. All bands are in play, including the WARC bands,  with the exception of 60 meters. Simplex on 2 meters and 6 meters is encouraged.  The SE stations are on the east coast and, are very close to each other. It will be harder for these states to contact each other so, use of 40m-160m is encouraged.  All modes of operation may be represented – SSB, CW, RTTY, Digital, etc.  The mode of operation is up to the individual colony state station.  Please refer to the State information pages for details. The 13 Colonies Special Event is a not for profit event. 13 Colonies Net Control Ops

PAARC Members:  It’s time to plan for the original 13 Colonies Special Event. Bob Josuweit/WA3PZO is asking for net control operators for WM3PEN (Philadelphia Special Event Station).  Any mode is appreciated. Please respond to Bill/W3FRB at w3frb at comcast dot net. Bill will relay the net control information for PAARC.

About the 13 Colonies Special Event
During Independence week July 1 1300Z – July 6 0400Z, 2017. WM3PEN will participate again this year. Details are on the 13 Colonies page. This year’s theme will be “Liberty or Death.” Join us in this exciting celebration of Independence. Each year’s QSL card is different.

13 Colonies Special Event – July 1 to 6

PAARC members had so much fun participating in the 13 Colonies Special Event in past years, that a few wanted to get more involved. This year some members will operate special event station WM3PEN for part of the time during this 6 day event. If you plan to participate and work colony stations, you’re encouraged to spot it for others at DX Summit. In 2015, over 126,000 total contacts were made in this event.
