The next PAARC foxhunt will be on April 22, starting at 10 am. The start will be at the Pottsgrove Middle School on 1351 N. Hanover St., Pottstown 19464 N 40 deg., 16.27 min, W 75 deg. 38.15 min.
If anyone needs to borrow equipment contact Jim, k3chj at arrl.net. He has a log periodic antenna, passive & active attenuators, a boat anchor 2m radio with an analog s meter plus a PennDOT map. We will also have a 440 mhz “pedestrian” fox to find at the finish. Bob, K3DBD will be the fox.

The last transmitter hunt aka fox hunt of the 2016 season was held on October 29, 2016. Weather was sunny, but a cool 36 degrees F at 10

am. Bill (W3FRB) and Jane (KC3FSR) were the foxes. The hunters included Al(AG3T) and Dori (K3TES), Bob (K3DBD), and Jim (K3CHJ) and Sal (NC3U). This was Sal’s first time as a fox hunter. Sal thoroughly enjoyed the event. He plans to extoll the virtues of fox hunting to the other clubs that he is a member of.
All PAARC foxhunts begin at the Pottsgrove Middle School. Why? Because it is the highest accessible point around. We have 3 fox transmitters: large (5 W), medium (100MW) and micro (10 MW). Hunters can use all fox transmitters to find the foxes, but the large and medium are more frequently used for homing in. (more…)

Come out for a fun holiday weekend social on Friday, July 1st at 6:00 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Rd., in Limerick.
Try out your fox hunt skills, checkout some boat anchor radios, get your Baofeng HT programmed for the PAARC repeaters, or just catch up with old friends. If you have something ham radio-related that you’d like to show to others, bring it! We’ll be grilling 1/4 lb. hot dogs and serving them with all the fixins’ along with homemade lemonade. Pre-order your hot dog platter for $4 at the June meeting. Double down on dogs for $5. Feel free to bring a dessert to share. We look forward to seeing you there!
